The location is prime since it’s close to the US consulate and that’s the only reason why most people stay there. The breakfast buffet was good and pleasantly surprised me.

For a great hotel like Hyatt, the stay was good and comfortable, but the service leaves much to be desired. When i first booked the hotel through booking.com through an existing credit card stored in booking.com, the card was rejected several times by the hotel. I then changed to second card and still was rejected. I called up my bank and they verified there was nothing wrong with my card with no past attempts charged to the card. I had to email the hotel directly over several emails before they finally could charge to my card. Upon arrival, the wifi was not working due to setting a wront last name for my room and the phone was also not working. When checking in , the front desk told me the breakfast was R930 but was charged a much higher rate when i paid at the restaurant. I asked them why, and they said i had to prepay for the breakfast during checking-in which the front desk did not state upfront. After much haggling to their manager on duty, she decided to give us a free breakfast the next day. But the most upsetting thing was where was booking.,com in all of these??? When i reserve through booking.com, there is no reason to have to deal with the hotel directly to sort out this mess. I tried to reach booking.com’s customer service and they have done a wonderful job in making it so well hidden away and so difficult to reach their customer service. They only replied days later to say that there shouldn’t be any problem with my first card as i have used it many times before. This experience led me to look at other websites eg hyatt’s own website and realised booking.com is not any cheaper. Rest assured i will be using less of booking and trying out new avenues.

We visited Chennai for Medical purpose and found there's language problem. The outo rikshaw driver/ Shop keeper do not understand Hindi as well as English, they only understand local language, felt very uncomfortable communication with them. For medical purpose Chennai is good and for others I totally disliked.

I believe India's fourth largest populous city, so it's huge. Liked the Tuk Tuk rides in crazy city traffic. The museums were good plus amazing Hindu temples. The general vibe of a large Indian city. Felt always safe.

Must visit. People are warm. Culture is open ended. Malls especially amba is my all time favourite. Had food from mainly vegetarian restaurants. I would avoid taking taxi next time as public transport is still perfect in chennai. Getting around in taxi and auto is faster in this city. You can take a walk even in the night as people are respectful towards fellow human beings.

Beautiful place and nice people, though it was said, they only talk in Tamil, I found it incorrect coming from North India, they helped, in trains, taxi, Ola etc. Nice food. Good beaches, very good traveling measures, nice places around Chennai too.
Only it was hot for me...

Chennai is a surprisingly modern city in that its facilities and modes of transport are smooth and seamless. The metro is very convenient. The residents of Chennai, especially at their professions, have a pleasant professionalism and competence. While Chennai is warm, it isn't uncomfortably so.

Chennai is a huge, noisy, dirty city with horrendous traffic and very few tourist attractions. We only stayed there for a night at each end of our trip as we flew into and out of Chennai airport. I wouldn't bother spending any more time there than is necessary for transit to be honest.
I stayed there for three days as I had a meeting in a hall close to this residence. This is the most economical hotel that I found in this area. The room had enough space for a solo traveller like me. The AC was new. There was a heater which I didn't use. Overall this is a suitable stay for those with a TWO-WEELER. The hotel is situated in a residential area, so suitable for couples and families too. The restaurants nearby are very local but they sell good food Still I got Idlies for Rs 10/-. No mosquitoes in the room.
Arun Poli the chef was great, he has magic I his hands a simple aloo gobi with adrak tasted like amrtham, just the right amount of spice!
The Manchow soup was irresistable.
My cousin Hari a local was really impressed despite having eaten in several of the 5* hotels in Chennai!!!
Mayank from Indore and Devyani Roy (the Fuji brat) from Jabalpur both are excellent friendly and very helpful staff
Very clean, friendly, professional, and near the main railway stations. The room was freshly and stylishly decorated, with no loose wires like one often gets in Indian hotels. The bed was comfortable, the air-con and fan worked perfectly, great internet connection.Desk staff very helpful and friendly. Recommend this place for a stopover in Chennai if you need to catch a train elsewhere.
I book rooms in Chennai for my clients. And the service at this hotel is amazing. Exceptional customer service, with a commitment to making my guests comfortable, the staff are so nice and helpful. Special mention to Ms. Pratibha. The rooms were well-maintained, beds were exceptionally comfortable. The rooms were well-furnished and equipped. Enjoyed the food at breakfast.
The owner, Shiva, went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and enjoy our stay. He arranged taxis and rickshaw drivers for us, helped negotiate the cost of rides, and helped us plan our sight seeing. When we told him our flight out of Chennai was at 11pm, he offered for us to stay at the hotel until 6pm. He and his staff were kind and generous.
Hotel of quality ! The rooms are comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Its strong point: the professional, helpful and accommodating staff.👍
For example: when my girlfriend was sick, the manager was very responsive. He booked a consultation with his family doctor within the hour. 🙏
Thanks again, we will book for a next stay in Chennai.
The Location of the Hotel is very good. Being on the ECR road, It has very good access to the beaches of Chennai. Quite close to the IT Hub if Chennai and the Rajiv Gandhi IT Expressway. The Hotel and its facilities were superb. Very secured Parking, Clean Rooms and Washrooms, No disturbances.
I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent experience I had at the Sheraton Chennai Hotel, Room no. 118. My stay, which took place from 23 Aug 2023 to 25 Aug 2023], was far from satisfactory, and I believe it is important to bring these issues to your attention
rooms are big and comfortable, they have very nice roof top lounge and pool, staffs are super courteous, had amazing complimentary breakfast in the morning, location is also fine, highly recommended, you won't get better hotel than this at this price in Chennai.
As always the stay, food, service, pool, room, everything at this hotel was excellent. This stay was made more special by the view from the room. We could see a large part of the city sky which was lit with firecrackers for diwali.
Everything was great , the food, service, amenities & maintenance. The staff were extremely helpful , Mathi in particular assisted me with a smile throughout my 8 day stay. Would 10/10 recommend. Best Hotel in Chennai
It's a very old hotel and I booked seeing they had refurbished recently. We booked a suite room and I must say we did have a great time. A perfect spot for Wedding Shoppers and great options nearby.
